Tasting Notes:

The 1988 is another classic Howard Park, a five star wine. Deep cassis, cherry ripe and chocolate cake aromas, terrific intensity yet elegance. Concentration of fruit on the palate with liquorice and coffee tones complementing the berry fruits. This is still a youthful wine that has not yet reached its peak. The 1988 is a very impressive wine that has gained in interest and complexity since it was first released.

Cellaring Notes:

Current Rating: 5 Stars
Drinking Window: Now 2009
