The Howard Park Sauvignon Blanc is the newest edition to the Howard Park family. This 100% varietal is crafted from pristine “free-run” fuice with winemaking focused on preserving the delicate fruit flavours of this aromatic variety.
The fruit for this wine is sourced from the coolest sites in the South West that produce the most vibrant Sauvignon Blanc. The aromas demonstrate lively tropical fruits with grassy herbaceousness and gooseberry notes, combine with a palate of fine structure and a long citrus finish.
This wine style is crafted to be enjoyed in its youth as an aperitif or to accompany fresh seafood and Asian cuisine. Secondary characters will start to develop after 18 months and will continue to add complexity to this wine for at least 3 years.
The wine is a very pale straw/green. It exhibits a wonderfully fragrant nose of snow peas, guava and dried sage with a little passionfruit. Juicy and tight with citrus acidity, the palate has herbal and grassy notes with some weight showing from the barrel fermented component. Finishing with typical crisp acidity and great fruit length the Howard Park 2008 Sauvignon Blanc is bright and fruit driven.
