Halliday's Top 100

The 2001 Howard Park Chardonnay and 1999 Howard Park Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot made it into James Halliday's long awaited Top 100 with rave reviews. Published in The Weekend Australian's November 23-24 2002 Review, Halliday wrote that "this year's final selection was the toughest on record." Howard Park was one of two West Australian wineries to have had two wines included in the top 100. Of the Top 100, Halliday chose 80 Australian still wines and 20 sparkling wines regarded as the best wines released throughout 2002, in both style and price brackets.

Both of the Howard Park wines included received 96 points.

Chief Winemaker Michael Kerrigan commented that "it's always rewarding to get vindication for your efforts from some one like Halliday who's opinion we value so highly. We believe in the wines and are thrilled that someone as highly respected as Halliday does too."

In the 'Whites over $20' category, the following West Australian wines featured:

2002 Suckfizzle Augusta Stella Bella Sauvignon Blanc (94 points) $23
