Tony Davis
Senior Winemaker
Tony Davis joined Howard Park wines as Senior Winemaker in January 2007 taking over from previous winemaker Michael Kerrigan. Tony has extensive and varied wine knowledge having completed 17 vintages at wineries including Yalumba, Plantagenet, Brown Brothers, Millbrook and three vintages overseas in France and the USA. He has also had experience in wine judging at the Royal Agricultural Shows in Canberra, Melbourne and Perth. Tony joins our wine making team of Genevieve Stols (Margaret River), Andy Browning (Denmark) and Viticulturalist David Botting and oversees all winemaking operations.
When asked about what he plans to bring to Howard Park and his vision forward, Tony has the following to say:
“Respect: Howard Park produce great quality wines across the whole style and price spectrum for many vintages and I admire the work of the current team and my predecessors. I’m here to improve rather than revolutionise. Innovation: I’ve spent many years making different styles from “traditional” and “emerging” varieties. There are several exciting projects in the pipeline at the moment. A broad palette of vineyards across the Southwest means working with the best regions for each variety and style. Experience: I’ve been working with WA vineyards for nearly 10 years and can bring experience gained from the eastern states and overseas.”
Tony is married to the very talented Sally, a chef who has also made many guest appearances at Howard Park promoting her gourmet produce and together they have two children, Luca and Harvey.
