Brand Ambassador

 After living overseas for 15 years experiencing a number of varying cultures including Kuwait, Dubai, USA, Abu Dhabi and Malaysia, I returned home to Perth with my two daughters Rachel and Emma to settle them into the Australian way of life.

In 1999 I was invited to join Howard Park by owners my brother Jeff and Amy Burch. I eagerly accepted this new challenge with much anticipation for the future. The beginnings of Howard Park were a very exciting time, when I joined the company it was in the process of establishing the Leston Vineyard in Margaret River, named after our much loved father, Leston. Howard Park continued to become a family affair with David my other brother taking on the role of managing the Leston vineyard.

I have fond memories of spending school holidays and weekends with my daughters in the vineyard pruning and during our first harvest the excitement of picking our first crop! It really was “all hands on deck” with the whole family being involved and working happily together.

From 1999 to 2005 my role at Howard Park grew from managing tastings in the Perth metropolitan region to the larger wine and food fairs across Australia. In 2003 I began my role as Brand Ambassador to our distribution team in Western Australia, supporting and driving the sales team whilst still continuing with my tasting coordinator role. In 2006 my role as Brand Ambassador Western Australia expanded to Brand Ambassador for Australia.

I am very fortunate that in my role I have had many and varied responsibilities. The most important part is the close relationship I have developed over the years with our customers both in retail and in the restaurant arena and with our Distributor partner Negociants. It holds much reward to continue to build these relationships and to see the success of these efforts in assisting to widen the distribution of our wines.

When not travelling for work I enjoy rowing in our aptly named “MadFish” rowing quad out of the Swan River Rowing club. You will find me most mornings down on the beautiful Swan River enjoying the tranquillity of an early morning row, watching the sun rise and sharing the water with the dolphins that also call the Swan River home.
